Support

We hope you appreciate our ad-free blog! We hate ads and know most of you do as well. So, how do we earn money? Mostly we work our butts off for several years and save 3/4 of what we make. Then we take some of those savings and enjoy 2-3 years of vacation. In this matter, we are saving for long-term retirement (55+), providing for our short-term retirement (our travels), and still meeting our every-day needs.

Still interested in how you can support us? There are several options.
  1. Cash-Back Referrals (only work once per new account):
    1. We use Project Fi for our cellular service. If you do decide to join yourself (usually only cheaper for low-data (i.e. under 3GB/month) users), use our referral link to get a $20 credit (for you and for us as well):
    2. We occasionally have to use Air BnB for lodging when we don't have the van. If you use our referral link, you will get a credit (about $50USD, I think), and we will get half of that as well:
    3. For online and in-store shopping cash-back, we use Rakuten. Works wonderfully. Just go through their website to your usual website (if cash-back is offered) and then eligible purchases will generate cash-back for yourself and you will get paid quarterly (I think). By using our referral link, we will get $25 per new account, and while you won't get any cash up-front, it saves you a small amount (usually ~2%) for things you were already purchasing (no strings attached):
  2. Rather give a gift and want to make our travels more entertaining?
    1. Jonathan and I are actually big readers and Jonathan has already read everything he considers interesting in our extensive library and we have been waiting (sometimes for months) on library books. So, you are welcome to gift us a month (or whatever #) of:
    2. Additionally, while we are out in the middle of nowhere enjoying the beauty of the earth, there is often no reception (cellular or radio), and occasionally we want to listen to music. We would have solved that using satellite radio, but they don't have that down south here. We were using Amazon Music, while we were waiting for our Prime membership to expire, but it has now expired. There are two options for the gift of offline music:
We have used both, so either is fine.
    3. We do occasionally buy a month of Netflix (2 screen option) when we know that we will be around WiFi for a bit. So you can also buy us a month of Netflix subscription:
    4. Apps are often very vital to our travels, and occasionally we have to pay for them. Help us purchase our next app on Google Play store:
  3. Finally, we, of course, always accept cash. Probably the easiest way is via PayPal (which is free when sending to friends or family from the US). Just click this link and enter the amount you want to send:
Again, none of this necessary, we work hard to be able to support ourselves, and we appreciate you even without your financial support.
