The Casualty List: Australia and New Zealand Edition

Over the last year and half (Jan 2017 through Jun 2018), we collected a fair share of maintenance items in our travels through Australia and New Zealand. Surprisingly less than you might expect though, considering how much we abused the van.
  • Van Chassis Consumables: 
    • 2 oil filters 
    • 4 engine air filters 
    • 3 cabin air filters 
    • 1 trans filter 
    • 10 gallons of engine oil 
    • 2 gallons of trans oil 
    • 1 gallon of coolant 
    • 1 gallon of gear oil 
    • 4 tires 
  •  Routine maintenance 
    • 1x front pads and rotors 
    • 2x rear pads 
    • 1x rear rotors 
    • 1x rear caliper bushings 
  • Non-Routine maintenance 
    • 1 turbo resonator O-ring MAP sensor (leaking at O-ring) Turbo to intercooler hose (pinhole leak) Filter to HP pump fuel line (seeping fuel when cold) #1 injector seal and bolt (Black Death) 
    • Left rear shock lower bushing 
    • Front struts 
    • 3x front sway bar bushings (links and bar) 
    • Ball joints (2mm of play) 
    • Front wheel bearings (play, noise) 
    • Passenger rear-axle flange seal (resealed with some sealant, no bearing removal) 
    • Recirculate damper linkage (broken pivot) 
    • Passenger seat height valve (leaks seat upwards) 
    • Steering wheel (outer covering worn off by ring) 
    • Hood and front roof paint (chipped, sandblasted) 
    • Windshield (rock strikes) 
    • Drivers wiper arm (fatigue cracking) 
    • Conversion Espar D5 (filled with rocks and sand, creek crossings) - fixed with spare parts (thanks, Eric!) 
    • EasyStart Timer (internal failure) 
    • 4 window latches (bent tabs) 
    • Left rear door catch (bent) 
    • Sliding door middle and bottom rollers (worn out) 
    • Roof LED light strips (water intrusion) 
    • Vinyl floor planks (completely worn out) 
    • Extensive cosmetic wear and tear, paint, etc. 
    • Air compressor cylinder and piston seal (scorn and worn by debris) 
    • Air connection on rear bumper (ripped off twice)* 
    • 30A shore power plug Cap (ripped off)*
    • Water filters 3x 
    • AC unit radiator fans (rocks and sand) 
    •  Maxxfan lid motor and keypad 
    • Seat swivel rollers (flat sided)
*One instance occurred in Idaho after we returned from Australia
